How to Transfer Godaddy Names to SiteSell for SBI

After becoming a SBI Sitesell website owner and affiliate I learned that buying a domain from godaddy for a new sitesell account is a big mistake. Its so unnecessary because SBI provides you with a domain when you sign up. After paying and your account is set just visit the register domain page.

If you’ve purchased a godaddy name you can transfer it to SBI. However, if that domain isn’t at least 60 days old, you can forget about it. The 60 day rule is an ICANN rule and it cannot be altered. Godaddy states…

Please note that if you have recently registered your domain or made a change to the registrant contact information, you will not be able to transfer the domain away for a period of 60 days from the registration date or most recent contact change.

The key to transferring your godaddy domain name to SBI is to “unlock it”. Click here for the unlock your domain instructions. Then log into SBI for the transfer. This is the process I followed for DaughtersKitchen.com.
