How and Where to Add Google Analytics In Wordpress

I’m still in the process of adding google analytics to all of my web pages. Slowly but surely they will all be analyzed.  But in the process, I was confused about where to find the code after logging into google analytics. I read the “How to Find your Google Analytics Code” article at ehow.com and I can now locate it with no problems.

How and Where to Add Google Analytics

Now that I’ve found a new wordpress theme for this blog, its time to add google analytics as part of my customizations.

The best place to add google analytics is in your theme’s footer.  The footer is always shown on every page of your wordpress site.  That makes it a good location so that each page is analyzed.  In your dash board click Appearance > Editor > Footer (footer.php).  Then paste in the code.  Let it be first in the footer.php file, or place it after the div tag line.  Just stay away from inserting in a php tag so you don’t mess up a functionality.
