How to Customize Your Pligg Template

So I hear of new migrations to drupal’s drigg. Sure, its new and I wonder how that’s going.
But this blog post is useful for the webmaster who still use pligg. However, the same principles can be applied to a drigg also.

How to Enhance Your Pligg Template

I’ll use the steps used to enhance iFancyit.com as an example. It all started with the basic yget template as shown below.

The first step to coming up with a new look, something different, was to find a nice template to work from for purposes of adding your own design. After viewing quite a few pligg templates, the silverbullet by qkin was chosen. It comes in a variety with blue, orange, purple, or green to choose from.

IfancyIt.com is set to the orange version, but it’s enhanced with a purple mix. Feel free to enhance your template with an additional color too. Check out this How To Find Color Schemes article for inspiration. Then, open up the css file to insert your new color where ever you like!

The last step to performing the enhancement was to create a customized top bar that features colors from our new color scheme. A good place to start for the topbar.gif customization is by downloading the buttons that are found here. They can be resized and recolored to fit your needs. Use the same colors on a gradient for the grad.png sidebar image.

Oh, let’s not forget the new rss image that was added. Create your own rss icon, or find one at hongkiat.
